Good fit for
This pergola suits homeowners with large patios who want a permanent, sturdy structure. The 9 by 12 foot size fits spacious decks or concrete pads. You will appreciate the motorized roof if you value easy shade control without leaving your seat. The integrated power outlet is ideal for those who entertain often and need to run speakers or projectors. The heavy-duty frame appeals to buyers in windy areas who need reliable wind resistance up to 90 MPH. It is best for those who want a low-maintenance, all-weather outdoor room.
Who should skip it
You should look elsewhere if you have a small patio or limited deck space. The 9 by 12 foot footprint requires a significant area to install properly. Buyers who prefer manual operation only may find the motorized system unnecessary, though manual override is available. Those who do not require integrated lighting or electrical outlets might find the included features superfluous for their specific setup.
Verdict: The Aoxun pergola offers a robust, feature-rich solution for large outdoor living areas. Its sturdy frame and flexible roof make it a practical choice for serious outdoor entertaining.
Key specs explained for this pergola
Size: 9' x 12'
This footprint provides a substantial outdoor area, measuring 105 inches wide by 144 inches long. You get enough space to fit a large dining table with chairs or a sectional sofa set. The generous dimensions make it suitable for entertaining multiple guests. When comparing pergolas, check that the width and length match your patio or deck layout before ordering.
Roof Material: aluminum
Aluminum is lightweight yet strong, resisting rust and corrosion better than untreated metals. This material ensures the roof stays intact through rain and humidity without requiring frequent painting or sealing. You benefit from low maintenance, as wiping it down is usually sufficient. Compare this to steel options, which may need more protection against weathering over time.
Wind Resistance: 90 MPH
The structure is engineered to withstand high winds up to 90 miles per hour when properly anchored. This rating suggests robust stability for areas prone to gusts or storms. You gain confidence that the pergola will remain secure during severe weather events. Always verify local building codes and ensure professional anchoring to achieve this performance level in practice.
Adjustable Louvers: motorized + manual
You can control the roof slats using a remote for convenience or adjust them manually during power outages. This dual system offers flexibility, allowing you to manage sunlight, shade, and airflow precisely. Independent section control lets you tailor the coverage to different zones. This feature is valuable for buyers who want automated comfort without losing manual override capabilities.
Included Features: LED lights, power outlet
Built-in LED lights with multiple color temperatures and brightness levels create ambiance for evening gatherings. The integrated weather-resistant power outlet allows you to plug in speakers, fans, or projectors directly. These features eliminate the need for external extension cords or separate lighting installations. Compare this to basic models that require you to source and mount these accessories separately.
Design and build overview
The frame combines aluminum and galvanized steel for structural integrity. You get a 5.75-inch center beam and 3.94-inch square posts. This layout enhances stability against wind loads up to 90 MPH when properly anchored. The aluminum roof louvered panels resist rust and corrosion. A hidden gutter system manages water runoff. You should anchor the unit securely to handle high winds safely.
The structure weighs 365 pounds. It stands 94.5 inches high with a 9-foot by 12-foot footprint. The Gray finish provides a neutral look. The motorized louvers allow you to adjust airflow and shade. You can control each section independently using the included remote. Manual adjustment is also possible if power fails. This flexibility lets you change the environment quickly.
According to the listing, the integrated beam motor simplifies installation. The motor remains hidden within the structure. This design reduces assembly complexity compared to traditional setups. Built-in LED lights offer three color temperatures and brightness levels. A weather-resistant power outlet is included for outdoor devices. You can connect speakers or fans directly. The layout supports modern outdoor living spaces for dining or relaxation.
Setup and everyday use guide
The Aoxun pergola uses a beam motor system to simplify assembly. This design keeps the motor hidden within the structure, which reduces installation complexity compared to traditional motorized models. You avoid extra challenges with external motor placement, resulting in a cleaner appearance and more dependable performance. The unit weighs 365 pounds, so you will need assistance or equipment to position it correctly during setup.
Once installed, you control the louvered roof using the included remote. You can adjust each roof section independently, allowing you to manage shade, sunlight, and airflow precisely. The system also supports manual operation, which ensures you can adjust the louvers even if there is a power outage. This dual control method provides flexibility for different weather conditions and personal preferences.
For daily use, the integrated LED lights offer three color temperatures and three brightness levels. You can adjust these settings to create the desired ambiance for evening gatherings or quiet relaxation. The weather-resistant power outlet allows you to connect outdoor essentials such as speakers, projectors, or fans directly to the structure. This feature eliminates the need for extension cords and keeps your patio area organized. The hidden gutter system manages rainwater runoff, helping to maintain a dry space around the perimeter. You can rely on the motorized mechanism for consistent operation, while the manual option serves as a practical backup. The structure is designed to withstand winds up to 90 MPH when properly anchored, providing stability for regular outdoor use.
Before you buy this pergola
You need a solid, level foundation for this 365-pound structure. The listing specifies it must be properly anchored to withstand 90 MPH winds. You should verify that your patio or deck can support this static load. Since the unit includes a weather-resistant power outlet, ensure you have a dedicated outdoor circuit nearby. You do not need to install separate wiring for the integrated LED lights or the motor, as these are built-in. However, you must check local building codes regarding permanent structures. This model fits well if you want a large, durable shade solution without complex external motors. It suits buyers who prioritize heavy-duty aluminum construction and integrated convenience features like lighting and power.
