Hardtop vs Soft Top Gazebo Specs
Roof Material
The Aoxun model features a galvanized steel hardtop. This rigid material provides rust resistance and durability against heavy rain and snow. It also includes hooks that hold up to 44 pounds each for hanging items. The Grand Patio uses a soft top canopy with a silver coating. This design accelerates drainage and reduces wind stress. The coating blocks 99.99% of UV rays. Steel offers permanent protection, while the coated fabric provides lightweight shade and quick water runoff.
Size and Dimensions
You get more floor space with the Aoxun hardtop. It measures 10 feet by 14 feet, offering 140 square feet of coverage. The Grand Patio soft top is slightly smaller at 10 feet by 13 feet, providing 130 square feet. The Aoxun is also taller at 119 inches compared to the Grand Patio’s 108 inches. If you need maximum room for furniture or a larger gathering, the larger footprint and height of the hardtop model are practical advantages.
Weight and Portability
The Grand Patio soft top is significantly lighter. It weighs 106 pounds, making it easier to move or reposition if needed. The Aoxun hardtop weighs 306 pounds due to its steel roof and sturdy frame. This heavy weight anchors the structure firmly against wind but makes it difficult to relocate. If you plan to keep the gazebo in one spot permanently, the weight is fine. If you value lighter components, the soft top has the advantage.
Assembly Time
The Grand Patio soft top offers faster assembly. It uses a V-shaped shrapnel connector system that allows a four-person team to finish in about one hour. This is noted as 25% to 30% quicker than traditional screw structures. The Aoxun hardtop requires two to three hours for two to three people to assemble. The hardtop involves more complex structural elements like the double galvanized steel roof. If you want to spend less time building, the soft top is the better choice.
Included Features
Both models include privacy curtains and mesh netting for bug protection. The Aoxun features 180g gray polyester curtains that help keep warm in cold weather. You can hook them with windproof hooks or tie them to pillars. The Grand Patio offers a smooth double-track system for double-layered curtains that slide easily. Both provide zippered netting for ventilation and insect control. The curtain mechanisms differ slightly, but both effectively enclose the space for privacy and comfort.
Which gazebo fits your needs
Heavy snow or rain regions
The galvanized steel hardtop resists rust and withstands heavy snow loads better than fabric. Its rigid structure offers superior durability against harsh weather. The included hooks hold up to 44 pounds each, allowing you to hang decor safely without damaging a soft canopy. This steel roof provides lasting protection for your outdoor space.
Fast setup preference
This soft top model features a V-shaped connector system for quicker assembly. The process takes about one hour with four people, which is significantly faster than traditional screw structures. The lightweight design at 106 pounds makes it easier to handle and move. You get a shelter up and running in less time than heavier alternatives.
Maximum hanging capacity
If you need to hang items, the hardtop gazebo offers hooks rated for 44 pounds each. The galvanized steel roof supports this weight securely. The soft top canopy lacks this specific load-bearing feature. The sturdy steel frame and roof combination ensures your hanging decorations or lights remain safe and stable in various weather conditions.
UV protection focus
The soft top canopy includes a silver coating inside that blocks 99.99 percent of UV rays. This double-roof design with wind vents keeps the interior cool. The dome shape accelerates drainage and reduces wind stress. You get effective sun protection and ventilation, making it ideal for hot climates where staying shaded is your priority.
