How these gazebos compare
COBIZI 12x20 Soft Top Gazebo
The COBIZI 12x20 offers significantly more floor space at 240 by 144 inches compared to the HAPPATIO’s 118 by 141 inches. It weighs 144 pounds, nearly double the 58.7-pound HAPPATIO, indicating a sturdier build for larger patios. This model includes both netting and curtains, matching the original’s insect protection while adding privacy. The double roof design also provides similar ventilation benefits. You should choose this alternative if you need a wider shelter for entertaining or if the HAPPATIO’s footprint feels too small for your outdoor furniture layout.
Grand Patio 10x13 Soft Top Gazebo
The Grand Patio 10x13 provides a slightly longer coverage area at 157 inches compared to the HAPPATIO’s 141 inches, while maintaining a similar width of 118 inches. It weighs 106 pounds, which is heavier than the HAPPATIO but still lighter than many hardtops. This unit includes both netting and curtains, ensuring you get the same bug protection and privacy features. The double roof style is not explicitly listed, but the enclosed design suggests strong insect control. Pick this option if you want a marginally larger rectangular space without moving to a much wider footprint like the 12-foot models.
COBIZI 12x20 FT Soft Top Gazebo with Curtains
The COBIZI 12x20 FT Soft Top Gazebo is much larger, measuring 233 inches in length and 144 inches in width. It weighs significantly more than the lightweight HAPPATIO, suggesting a more permanent installation. This model includes curtains for privacy but does not list netting in its attributes, which is a key difference from the original. The double roof design remains consistent, offering comparable airflow. Choose this alternative if you prioritize maximum square footage for large gatherings and need privacy screens, even if you must source separate insect netting for complete bug protection.
Domi 12x14 Double Roof Gazebo
The Domi 12x14 is a hardtop gazebo, a major shift from the HAPPATIO’s soft top. It weighs 314 pounds, making it a heavy, permanent structure rather than a portable one. The galvanized steel roof offers superior durability and weather resistance compared to fabric tops. It includes both netting and curtains, matching the original’s insect and privacy features. The double roof design is also present. Select this alternative if you want a long-term shelter that can withstand harsh weather better than a soft top, and you do not mind the higher weight and installation effort.
DWVO 12x20ft Hardtop Gazebo
The DWVO 12x20ft Hardtop Gazebo provides a massive 240 by 144 inches of coverage, far exceeding the HAPPATIO’s dimensions. It weighs 256 pounds, indicating a robust, stationary structure. This model includes both netting and curtains, matching the original’s comprehensive protection against insects and providing privacy. The double roof design ensures good ventilation similar to the HAPPATIO. Choose this alternative if you need a very large, durable shelter for a big patio or deck area and prefer the longevity of a hardtop roof over the portability of a soft top.
Sannwsg 10x10 FT Soft Top Gazebo
The Sannwsg 10x10 FT Soft Top Gazebo is smaller, measuring 120 by 120 inches, compared to the HAPPATIO’s 118 by 141 inches. It weighs less, making it easier to move. This model includes both netting and curtains, offering the same insect protection and privacy features as the original. The double roof design is also present, providing similar airflow benefits. The brown color offers a different aesthetic. Pick this alternative if you have a smaller patio space and need a more compact, lightweight option that still includes full bug protection and privacy curtains.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between soft top and hardtop gazebos?
Soft top gazebos use fabric canopies, while hardtop models feature solid roofs made of materials like galvanized steel. The Domi 12x14 uses a galvanized steel hardtop for maximum durability, whereas most alternatives here use soft tops. Hardtops generally offer better weather resistance but weigh significantly more, often over 300 pounds, compared to soft top frames that weigh under 150 pounds.
Which alternative offers the largest floor space?
The COBIZI 12x20 FT Soft Top Gazebo provides the largest footprint at 233 by 144 inches. This model is ideal for large patios or decks where you need ample room for entertaining. The DWVO 12x20ft Hardtop Gazebo also offers a spacious 240 by 144 inches layout, making it another strong option for expansive outdoor living areas.
Do these gazebos come with bug netting?
Most listed alternatives include mesh netting for insect protection. The HAPPATIO 10x12, Grand Patio 10x13, Domi 12x14, DWVO 12x20ft, and Sannwsg 10x10 all feature included netting. The COBIZI 12x20 also includes netting, while the other COBIZI 12x20 FT model lists only curtains in its included features. Netting helps keep bugs out while maintaining airflow.
Can I get privacy curtains with these gazebos?
Several models include privacy curtains for added seclusion. The COBIZI 12x20, Grand Patio 10x13, Domi 12x14, and DWVO 12x20ft come with curtains. The Sannwsg 10x10 also includes curtains. The original HAPPATIO and the other COBIZI 12x20 FT model do not list curtains as an included feature, focusing instead on ventilation or netting for outdoor comfort.
Which gazebo is best for small patios?
The Sannwsg 10x10 FT Soft Top Gazebo is the smallest option at 120 by 120 inches. It fits tight spaces where a large structure would be overwhelming. This brown model includes a double roof and sliding nets for bug protection. It weighs less than the larger 12x20 models, making it easier to manage in confined backyard or deck areas.
Are these gazebos suitable for pool areas?
Yes, many listed gazebos are recommended for pool use. The HAPPATIO 10x12, COBIZI 12x20, Grand Patio 10x13, and Domi 12x14 all list pool as a recommended use. Their steel frames and enclosed designs provide shade and protection from insects near water features. The double roof style on most models also helps with ventilation in humid outdoor environments.
How heavy are the steel frame gazebos?
Weight varies significantly by model and roof type. The HAPPATIO 10x12 is the lightest at 58.7 pounds. The COBIZI 12x20 weighs 144 pounds, and the Grand Patio 10x13 is 106 pounds. Hardtop models are heavier; the Domi 12x14 weighs 314 pounds, and the DWVO 12x20ft weighs 256 pounds. Heavier gazebos offer more stability in wind.
