How to choose the right one
-
Check roof durability
Decide between hardtop and soft top structures based on your weather exposure. Hardtop models like the 12x12 Galvanized Steel Roof Gazebo offer lasting protection against rain and sun. The galvanized steel roof resists rust and provides a solid barrier. Soft top options, such as the 12x12 Brown Steel Gazebo, are lighter but may require more frequent maintenance. If you live in an area with heavy precipitation, prioritize the hardtop design for long-term reliability and minimal upkeep.
-
Match size to space
Measure your patio or deck carefully before selecting a footprint. The 12x12 models provide 144 inches of width and length, fitting medium-sized areas well. The 13x15 Hexagonal Gazebo offers 178 inches in length and 155 inches in width, making it suitable for larger events. Ensure you leave enough clearance around the structure for airflow and movement. Choosing the correct dimensions prevents overcrowding and ensures the gazebo complements your outdoor layout without obstructing walkways.
-
Evaluate frame weight
Weight indicates stability and ease of assembly. The 12x12 Galvanized Steel Roof Gazebo weighs 268 pounds, offering a sturdy base that resists wind. The 13x15 Hexagonal model is slightly lighter at 265 pounds but still substantial. In contrast, the 12x12 Brown Steel Gazebo weighs only 62.2 pounds. This lightness makes it easier to move but may require more careful anchoring. Consider your local wind conditions and whether you need a permanent or portable shelter.
-
Review included features
Look for attached netting and curtains for privacy and bug control. The hardtop models include both netting and curtains, allowing you to adjust visibility and airflow. This is ideal for patios where you want to keep insects out while enjoying the breeze. The soft top option includes netting but lacks curtains. If you need complete privacy or extra insect protection, choose a model with the full curtain package. These features add functionality without requiring separate purchases.
-
Consider frame material
Frame construction affects longevity and maintenance. Aluminum frames, found in the hardtop models, are rust-resistant and lightweight. Steel frames, used in the soft top option, are durable but may require more care to prevent corrosion. The 12x12 Brown Steel Gazebo uses a steel frame with a double roof style. Check the material specifications to ensure compatibility with your climate. Aluminum is often preferred for humid environments due to its resistance to moisture damage.
